NAB’S 6 Star Green Star Environmentally Sustainable home

700 Bourke Street is 16 Storey, iconic and sustainable workplace. Developed and owned by CBUS, designed by Wood Bagot Architects and constructed by Brookfield Multiplex.

The Building capitalises on it unique triangular shape footprint with a 12 storey central atrium that allows greater visibility between office floors and provides natural light to permeate the design.

This A -Grade commercial office building will be the home of 6000 Melbourne based employees of the NAB. The environmentally sustainable features include an energy efficient vertical fissure facade, tri-generation facility and black water treatment plant.

 

 

The building comprises 16 storeys over 63000m2 with a roof top garden, childcare facilities, a 250 seat community lounge know as the “Hall” which will be available to NAB’s business and community partners. A further 320 seat theatrette know as “The Arena” will be open to the public.

Holyoake engineers worked in conjunction with building services engineers Norman Disney & Young, Mechanical Services Contractor D & E Air conditioning to develop the air diffusion systems which was designed to effectively condition the space from behind the architectural feature of perforated ceilings and in conjunction with passive chilled beams.

The project has delivered as true workplace of the future.
